I first met Levi when he came 2 da kids home I woz in at da time,he woz 8yrs old(wiff da same smile) n' I woz 9...We immediately clicked,he woz a funny boy always looking for da next adventure,wotever it woz he would throw himself inna it... He watched out 4 me always n' NEVER let anyone hurt me.. He luvved football(he woz an avid supporter 'ov Man U.in later life...)we used 2 play on Da Boss(a playing field we used close 2 da kids home) I woz always stuck in goal...I wonder why...ha!..We'd go Bike riding up 2 da Westhill (later on we got Scooters...),scrumping fi Apples on da farmers land..(I woz always getting caught u c Levi could RUN...)lol n' the rest is History as we were NEVER 2 far away from each ovver..I'd see him everyday wiffout fail..oh how I miss that...

He woz my rock,helped me raise me boys,taught me about RASTA BIZ-NIZ,woz deh all frew me illness(I woz Diagnoised 1989),deh wen I went in2 hospital n' deh wen I woke up wiff that great broad grin,always around 2 help me,any problem he would fix it,me boys had soooooooo much RESPECT 4 him,then on that Fateful day we learned he had Cancer also...omg!!! 8wks from he woz Diagnoized till him Pass,how woz that fair??★*•.♥.•*•.♥.•*•.★.•*•.♥.•*•.♥.•*★
STEVIE LEVI (aka Yammie) died suddenly in Hospital on the 23rd september 2000 at 07 25am with his Family n' Friends surrounding him as he went on his final Journey...He woz 44yrs old,he left three children, two girls Esther,plus baby Shakayah,an Leah, one boy Aaron.. one Brother,Mc Trooper(Mikey Gad)plus all his neices n' nephews an myself,Jozie (his fostersister) n' boys,Jason n' Benjahman plus zillions of friends here n' everywhere he went...★*•.♥.•*•.♥.•*•.★...............
First, He woz a Solider of JAH, straight from "THE AFRIKAN WARRIOR ACCADEMY" a founder member 'ov JAH REVELATION MUZIK (founded in 1981) best soundsystem to be heard in the dancehalls in da '80's,he woz a Technician for the TWELVE TRIBES of ISRAEL( a major part of his life, an a member since 1979..)along with a Carpenter/Electrician/Plummer/Car Mechanic/Painter n' Decorator/ u name it an he could do it.. He helped many people through his short time here.. Enuff will remember him for this... Always left it Clean n' Tidy.....★*•.♥.•*•.♥.•*•.★
He lived in Hastings, East Sussex(where we grew up 2gether) he n' his brother Mc Trooper(da lyrical computor)created "FUGITIVE Hi Fi" sound in 1975 where they would playout in pubs(Carlise,Mr.Cherrys)n' clubs(Crypt)in and around Hastings having quite a big following..He n' his Brother could always be found in the Recordshop(Queens Rd.)on a Saturday wen people would find out where they were playing out...Memories are good from those Days...yup sure are...They eventually donated Fugitive sound to T.T.I in 1979(where others 2 donated an "Jah Revelation" woz born)when they moved 2 London..(I followed shortly afterwards..august 1979)★*•.♥.•*•.♥.•*•.★.•*•.♥.•*•.♥.•*★
Levi has Family in BRIGHTON so would often visit.. he woz Connected, Involved with(building up) "KINGTAFARI" one of the local sounds in Brighton..Many ah Good Dance fi sure... Big up Marcus (aka father)Ruben da Silva..All his Bredren down soh..Up here, B-Boy,his good good friend,his Brother in Arms(always deh)...
Levi would often be in the Studio in Brighton doing Dubplates..Johnny Osbourne woz a regular visitor..happy days....Levi had been at Collage n' jus passed his CITY n' GUILDS in "IT" wiff flying colours..Gwan Bro..Jah... I remember da day he called me, he woz sooooo proud...♥
He woz n' always will be Special to his Family, Myself n' me Boys ♥♥♥♥,as he woz a MAJOR part( n' Influence) in our lives...I'm sure he will be dearly missed by all who knew him, an will NEVER be forgotton JAH KNOW...(Bet he deh ah tweak da boxes right now...)...lol...★*•.♥.•*•.♥.•*•.★.•*•.♥.•*•.♥.•*★
We had a Spritual service at STREATHAM VALE CEMETERY,(where he woz finally laid 2 rest)..It woz a HUGH event,7 Limosines all full up,Flowers inside the cars,on top,jus anywhere they could place them..He also had a "Gaurd of Honour"...Milatant.. So many Bredren n' Sisteren turned out for LEVI that day,it woz packed 2 the brim(all showing some love)... The Possession down 2 his Resting Place woz so Peaceful, wiff an Array of Banners all flying da Colours fi Levi...Respect...As da Sun came out Women Sang as da Men Backfilled an we said our Goodbyes...Selah.....Psalm 23...vrs 4
